Drone filming for brand films and commercials

Campaign imagery with a sense of place.

A commercial is often remembered for one image. Aerial cinematography can give a campaign that image: a road drawn across a hillside, the scale of a coastline, a city seen from a height most people never stand at.

What it involves

Sometimes we’re one part of a bigger production, flying for a director on a commercial set in the Valley or out on the Angeles Crest. Sometimes we’re helping a brand team plan the aerial side of a smaller film. Either way, the starting point is the creative idea and the edit it has to serve.

We plan against your storyboard and your deliverables, including vertical framings for social when they’re part of the brief, so the shots you need come back in the shapes you need them.

Questions about brand films and commercials

More answers in the FAQ.

Often, yes. We can frame and fly with both in mind, or capture dedicated vertical takes of the key shots. The best approach depends on the camera and the move, which we’ll agree during planning.

Both. We’re happy to plug into an agency-led production or work directly with a brand on a smaller project.

On most commercial shoots the production’s location team pulls the permit, through FilmLA for much of Los Angeles County. We’ll tell them exactly what the aerial unit needs included, and help with the FAA side ourselves.
