Tidewater

A slow, light-led brand film for a coastal hotel, built around the hours between low tide and dusk.

The brief

The hotel’s photography showed beautiful rooms and nothing of the coastline that kept guests coming back. The brief was simple: make the setting the star. The water, the light, the feeling of arriving somewhere a little remote.

The film had to work as a 90-second piece for the website and as a set of short loops and vertical edits for social and booking channels.

How we shot it

We planned around two tides and two windows of light. Early morning gave us glassy water and long shadows across the shallows. The last hour of the day gave warmth on the facade and the first lights coming on along the terrace.

The moves were kept deliberately slow, long steady pushes and top-down drifts that let the color of the water do the work. Every shot was flown with clean starts and ends so the editor could hold a frame without it feeling cut short. Flights were timed with the hotel team to avoid the busy pool and beach hours.

The result

The finished film opens on the shoreline rather than the building, and every cutdown leads with the landscape before it reveals the hotel.
